Cervical Screening Results via the NHS App
From September 2025, the NHS Cervical Screening Programme will begin sending negative test results digitally through the NHS App.
- If a patient receives a negative result, they will be notified via the NHS App and a notification will appear on their device. If the message is not read within 72 hours, a letter will be sent as a backup.
- It will appear as an NHS App notification, and if someone doesn’t have notifications switched on for the NHS App, they may also receive an SMS message to remind them to check the NHS App.
Abnormal results will continue to be sent by post for the time being.
